I've been using Calibre for many years but in the past year, it's simply not working. I can't connect wirelessly, can't connect the content server and it won't convert anything to the correct format. I'm trying to convert a book to a PDF so I can put it on the Kindle reader, but when I tell it to covert, it sends the PDF to App/Local, etc. into a temp file and breaks it into 45 different files. One file is the cover, the next file is the title page, etc. Obviously, Kindle can't read that. I have no idea how to stop it from sending everything I convert into temp files because it doesn't give me the option to choose where it's going to go. I also can't change any settings (email address, server, etc.) because I can't find any place to do that. Clicking configure just gives options on moving stuff around in the library. The help files are way too complicated, some of them are pages long. Is the app broken? Everytime I open it, there's another update which takes up to 10 minutes to download and I have incredibly fast internet. If it's abandoned, is there an alternative that's easier to use? Thanks!
